Ferdinand is a kayaker, guide, craftsman and small business owner - a true Renaissance man. Being a Costa Rican native, he started kayaking at the tender age of 12 and took up guiding in 1989. He was a competitor in slalom for Costa Rica in the 1992 olympic games in Barcelona, Spain. Paddling has taken Ferdinand to the US, Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Austria and Bolivia. He now designs and manufacturers his own line of high performance whitewater paddles and helmets - Blue Pool. Ferdinand is now mostly interested in tropical expedition/exploratory boating - he guides for many of our Costa Rican kayak adventures.
