You have been in your boat 8-10 times in Class II water. You have a combat roll that is fairly reliable or can ask for a T-Rescue and hangout for one. You are a strong swimmer and are able to maneuver successfully in current (in or out of your boat). You are comfortable in Class II whitewater and are working toward paddling Class III. You may be ready to learn some playboating skills. View all Advanced Beginner Kayaking Classes
You have all the necessary skills to be a classified in the “Advanced Beginner” category. You are confident in your ability and are ready to certify your skills on the river. View all Kayak Certification Classes
Your roll is very close to 100% in Class III moving water. You can help others to shore if necessary, even if it is not pretty. Class III rapids are your comfort zone and you are ready to move into Class IV with little to no apprehension. If you’re a playboater, you can flat-spin and link ends. All of your abilities are sharp as a tack and you have no problem tackling Class IV and are working toward Class V runs or advanced playboating moves. You have the ability to take care of yourself as well as others on the river. You may have an ACA Certification as well as an advanced First Aid certification. You are a lead boater! You also can sweep on trips at this point. View all Advanced Kayaking Classes
