Instructor Training

AMGA – Single Pitch Instructor Course

Prerequisites: Candidates should have their own equipment, regularly climb and have been rock climbing outdoors for at least 12 months.

$425/person, 4 days

Renaissance Adventure Guides offers the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) Single Pitch Instructor training course and assessment. This program provides
certification to rock climbing instructors who work in a top rope setting. The AMGA is the nation’s premier organization of professional climbing and ski guides. The Single Pitch Instructor training course gives rock-climbing instructors proven techniques for introducing their clients to this exciting sport in a safe and inspiring manner. This is not a class on how to rock climb but rather a course for experienced climbers who are or aspire to be superior climbing instructors. We will cover site selection, risk management, teaching techniques, efficient anchor systems, rescue skills and many other relevant topics.

Cancellation (Refund) Policy:

Classes in Colorado (kayaking lesson, open pool sessions, avalanche, snowshoeing, etc.)

If you need to cancel your reservation, you may do so in advance, 5 business days (or more).  However, your refund will incur a 10% cancellation fee. 

If you need to cancel your reservation within 2 business days of the class departure date, funds are committed and you will be charged the entire amount for the class. NO REFUNDS!

Refunds will ONLY be given if Renaissance Adventure Guides is unable to provide the class as described (excluding location changes due to water level or weather fluctuations).

You can reschedule your class (subject to availability) without any penalties as long as you contact Renaissance Adventure Guides within 2 business days (during normal office hours) of your class departure date.
