Sat, 6/20 Kayaking Class
Hello to everyone from Saturday’s Chatfield class. I would like to thank all of you for joining Daniel and I for what was a fun filled day of kayaking the rapids of the Chatfield gravel ponds. It was great to watch everyone progress as the day went on. As a group we went from a lot apprehension in the morning about being able to do wet exits to big smiles and C to C rolls at the end of the day.
Here are a few individual recommendations and challenges for each of you to take you to the next level. Katie & Justin, time to take your skills to the river and have fun. I recommend that you sign up for our Glenwood trip and enjoy a weekend in the mountains on the Colorado River together. Andrew, you lucky dog, you already got to enjoy the Colorado River on Sunday. Let us know how it went. For, you I recommend some pool time to polish your roll. Pool times are Tuesday and Thursday night in Golden at the Recreation Center. Rachel, I know you are signed up for the river class in a few weeks so a little more time in a kayak before that time would be beneficial. A couple of options for you would be open pool time at the Golden Recreation Center or even a private lesson for some one on one time to get your roll dialed in. Chad and Gary, you two are so ready for the river. The two of you had a pretty good roll down by the end of the day and it would be great if you can transition that roll to the river. Sign up for one of our rivers classes and get ready for some real excitement and fun.
