Mastering the Roll Class 2/9/10

I just wanted to say thanks for taking the "Mastering the Roll" class with me last night. As I said last night many times, you were a PURE PLEASURE to instruct! Honestly. Best class I have had in a long time (small and personal one-on-one felt good).
First thing I want you to know: DO NOT FRET IF YOU DID NOT GET THE ROLL 100% OF THE TIME! It takes most people an average of 6 hours JUST WORKING SPECIFICALLY on the roll to become somewhat consistent. And it takes YEARS of practice to become 100% consistent. However, you have had a really good start so let me tell you about a few other things to help you.
Also, please consider our Open Pool session on Tue and Thu nights at the Golden Rec Center. You can pay a $10 entry fee (to us) and if you need gear, we also rent for $10 per session. It’s a great way to practice everything you have learned (or are about to learn). Just keep in mind reservations are required.

A club you should consider joining ($30 a year and all the kayaking friends you can handle): www.ColoradoWhitewater.org I am on the Board and having nothing but great things to say about them. Consider especially “Training Camp” in May. It will cost you a bit extra but is a SUPER good time! Cruises are free every week that you can take part in and monthly get-aways to different rivers are also super fun! You boat with groups according to your ability and they supply leads, sweeps and instruction all for just the cost of your membership! Lots of fun social mixer events too.

Get forums to start become more familiar with: www.mountainbuzz.com and www.eddyglower.com. They both also have a classified section if you are looking for used gear or want to sell anything.
The Golden Community Rodeo at the clear creek whitewater playpark is something you should be a part of. It starts on May 26 and goes for 4 consecutive Wednesdays. Just come watch – HUGE fun! After that, RA Guides does our free Wednesdays nights for the rest of the summer.

Patty,
You were my instructor who taught me to do the basic roll in the Golden pool. I would like to continue to master the roll and I would like to go on a class II river trip if you know of any coming up. I didn't see anything scheduled on the RA Guide site.
