Costa Rica is a tropical paddling paradise and the perfect place to increase your kayaking skills. This trip begins with a day of working on skills and a mellow river run to warm up. Two days on class II+ rivers follows that, followed by a day of relaxation and then three more days on harder rivers as we step it up a notch or two. Warm water, a multitude of different rivers to choose from and the gentle surf of the ocean offer us the perfect setting for this beautiful kayaking adventure in Costa Rica.

DAY 2
On your first day of Costa Rica adventure travel we start out with a tune-up clinic on rolling at the hotel pool. Get your roll dialed-in under the competent watch and critique of our ACA instructors. Then its time to load up and head for the Rio Sarapiqui watershed. Enjoy an afternoon run down an easy section of the Rio Sarapiaui and then settle into the Ara Amnbigu Lodge which will be our base for the next several days. (B,L,D)
DAY 3
For our second river day we'll return to the Rio Sarapiqui. We'll be putting in slightly higher upstream to work more on river navigation skills and visit an amazing waterfall that comes down a side canyon. Having two days in a row on the same run will help to build your confidence levels and solidify the skills that we worked on yesterday. Accommodations at Ara Amnbigu Lodge. (B,L,D)
DAY 4
Today you'll be kayaking the Rio Puerto Viejo and odds are that we'll have this little known gem all to ourselves. One of our favorites for scenery, this smaller volume run has a spectacular jungle canopy. Keep your eye open for iguanas and other jungle critters. Depending on the water levels there may be a good spot to work on surfing here. Accommodations at Ara Amnbigu Lodge. (B,L,D)
DAY 5
You've paddled hard and deserve a break, so today we'll be visiting a serpentarium to learn about local fora and fauna and also experience one of Costa Rica's famous attractions - a series of zip-lines that run through the jungle and traverse the river. Get ready for some spectacular views and big thrills! Learn first-hand why the rainforest is worth protecting. Enjoy the afternoon relaxing in a hammock or chilliing by the pool. Another possibility is a trip to the beach at Cahuita for some surf kayaking or beach combing; we'll check ot the weather and make the call on your activities that day. Accommodations at Ara Amnbigu Lodge. (B,L,D)
DAY 6
Pack your bags team because its time to move to another watershed. A three-hour drive brings us to the watershed for the Rio Reventazon. You'll spend the mid-day on the Florida section learning how to relax and enjoy big water - no need for intimidation, this stuff is AWESOME! Relax this evening at the Turrialtico Hotel with a scenic vista of the Turrialba Volcano and maybe even glimpse a little smoke coming from it. Accommodations at Hotel Turrialtico. (B,L,D)
